Atragon part 2

To follow up on yesterdays post Atragon was made in 1963 by Toho and featured the Gotengo (Atragon) battling Manda. The sub has a huge drill on its bow and it also could fly. Gotengo was later featured in Godzilla Final Wars (also appearing in WAR IN SPACE).This site offers some pics of some of the collectibles from the movie Atragon

Atragon...or how my sub can fly?

Atragon (海底軍艦 ) Was an interesting movie to say the least. One of my favorite Kaiju characters of all time was a part of this movie (Manda マンダ ) Here he's having some fun in Destroy All Monsters:

Manda appeared in other Godzilla movies along with an appearance in the tv series Ultra Q (ウルトラQ) as a mystic dragon in episode 6. Tomorrow I'll go more in depth about the movir Atragon.

K20 and other news

Looks like there is a new movie coming out in Japan in 09 called K20 by Toho studios. Today I found something I havn't seen in years: Captain Chesapeake. He was the host for cartoons in our local Baltimore area. He started doing the show two days before I was born and it lasted until 1990. George Lewis who played the role of CC also was the Ghost Host( late night horror host) for WBFF tv. Here are a few videos of him playing both roles:

CJ7 and more..

Today I had the chance to view the trailer for the upcoming movie CJ7 By Stephen Chow (of Kung Fu Hustle fame as well as numerous others). It's geared more towards family but I'll see it none-the-less since I'm a Chow fan. In other news I'm off to view Kung Fu Dunk. I've been wanting to watch this now for a few days and a review will come later if I'm not busy. For now heres the trailer for it:

The shape of Things to Come

I've decided to write this blog again since alot has happened over the past year or so. Same me- and same hobbies (horror, asian flicks, etc.) just living in a new state. Yesterday I was on the Worst Case Scenario website looking around. This movie along with Bio Slime could end up being my two favorite flicks this year. I'm excited to see both but I missed out on the limited edition dvd WCS had to offer - hopefully they will have more soon or someone out there has a copy they want to unload. Anyway today It was raining out so I ended up watching a great Spaghetti western called The Mercenary ( Il Mercenario ) From Sergio Corbucci. Starring the great Franco Nero and Jack Palance. This was the 106 min uncut eng dubbed version . A trailer for it is here:

You'll also notice a young Tony Musante in the trailer..he plays Paco Roman. Tony went on to star in movies such as Traffic and We Own The Night. If your into Spaghetti Westerns like me then you'll want to check these sites out:
